Description

Ursodeoxycholic Acid is a member of a class of medications known as biliary agents or gallstone dissolving agents. These medications are used to treat different conditions such as gallstones, primary biliary cholangitis, an autoimmune disease of the liver, excess cholesterol in bile, and liver and biliary diseases in children older than six years old that are brought on by cystic fibrosis.

Ursodeoxycholic Acid is a naturally occurring bile acid that is present in Ursodeoxycholic Acid. Ursodeoxycholic Acid dissolves gall bladder stones primarily of cholesterol by reducing blood cholesterol synthesis. Ursodeoxycholic Acid enhances liver function and protects liver cells from damage brought on by toxic bile acids.

Benefits Of Ursodeoxycholic Acid Tablets

Tablets containing ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) are effective in treating a range of liver and biliary illnesses. Here are a few of the main advantages:

Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC): Ursodeoxycholic acid is frequently used in the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis, or PBC. Patients with PBC who get prolonged UDCA medication have a higher chance of surviving and a longer time to need a liver transplant.

Treatment of gallbladder stones: Ursodeoxycholic acid is also utilized in this regard.

Ursodeoxycholic Acid: This medication is used in the treatment and management of cholestatic liver disorders. Its effects include cytoprotection, immunomodulation, membrane stabilization, anti-oxidation, and anti-apoptotic properties. Studies have demonstrated its positive impact on chronic liver illness linked to cystic fibrosis, intrahepatic cholestasis during pregnancy, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and liver disease.

Cystic Fibrosis-related Liver and Biliary illnesses: Children with cystic fibrosis-related liver and biliary illnesses, ages 6 to 18, are treated with ursodeoxycholic acid tablets. People with cystic fibrosis may benefit from ursodeoxycholic acid because it has been shown to reduce cholestasis and may improve liver function.
