Levocetirizine, Paracetamol & Phenylephrine Hydrochloride Tablet
Levocetirizine + Phenylephrine + Paracetamol is a combination of three medicines: Levocetirizine, Phenylephrine, and Paracetamol, which helps in relieving cough, cold watery eyes, and itchy nose/throat. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks histamine relieving allergy symptoms like running nose and sneezing. Phenylephrine relieves congestion and a stuffy nose. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic, which prevents certain pain-related chemical messages from developing in the brain.
It is mainly used to treat common cold symptoms and allergies. It consists of three medicines, Levocetirizine, Phenylephrine, and Paracetamol. Levocetirizine belongs to the class of anti-allergic drugs, which works by blocking the action of histamine. Phenylephrine helps in shrinking the blood vessels in the nostrils and reducing stuffy noses. Paracetamol helps in the reduction of pain and fever by preventing the production of prostaglandins in the brain.
Advantages and disadvantages come with every medicine, this one also has some disadvantages. Patients might experience drowsiness, headache, tiredness, stomach upset, restlessness, Vomiting, Sleepiness, Fatigue, Constipation, Diarrhea and dry mouth. HOW TO USE
Tablet/capsule: Use this medicine in consideration with your doctor. Take it with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Oral suspension: Shake the bottle well before use. Do check the label for directions and consume as directed by your physician.
PRECAUTIONS
TAB-COLDNILl should not be taken in case you are allergic to the medicine, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. It can be harmful if you intake the medicine in case of high blood pressure, kidney or liver diseases, and coronary artery disease. Also do inform your doctor about prior medication, before taking Levocetirizine + Phenylephrine + Paracetamol. You should not stop taking this medication without the doctor’s consent, as the symptoms might come back again to haunt you and can worsen your condition from earlier.
Do not take TAB-COLDNIL, if you have taken any anti-depressant medication in the last 14 days.
Drug-Drug interaction: LEVOCETIRIZINE+PARACETAMOL+PHENYLEPHRINE may interact with blood thinners, antibiotics, high cholesterol-lowering medicines, anti-sickness drugs, anti-allergic drugs, drugs used to reduce acid in the stomach and antidepressants.
Drug-Food Interaction: Do not take herbal supplements for depression with LEVOCETIRIZINE+PARACETAMOL+PHENYLEPHRINE.
Drug-Disease Interaction: If you are suffering from high blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, or heart diseases like coronary artery disease, and are receiving antidepressant medicines, please consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
