Ofloxacin, Metronidazole & Simethicone Suspension combination is known to be used in the treatment of diarrhea. Ofloxacin’s main role is to kill the bacteria and prevent them from reproducing and getting themselves repaired and Metronidazole collaborates with Oflaxacin as its role is to kill the bacteria by destroying their DNA. Simethicone works to fill apart the gas bubbles and it is a type of anti-foaming agent that allows the easy passage of gas.

The combination of all three medicine is also called the empirical antibiotic that helps in the treatment of diarrhea which is mixed in the blood and also helps in curing some serious infections like peritonitis. Some of the common side effects of this medication are nausea, weight loss, headache, loss of appetite, dizziness, and abdominal pain. But there is no need to worry about it as they are not for the long term and will last only for a few days, in case these symptoms persist for a longer period of time, then it is mandatory to consult to your doctor in order to avoid any serious side effects.

PRECAUTIONS

Ofloxacin, Metronidazole & Simethicone Suspension is generally taken at a fixed time and could be taken with an empty stomach too but if your stomach gets upset after taking it then it is preferred to take it after meals.
The dosage and duration should be prescribed by your doctor . Generally, it is recommended to be taken two times a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
