How To Take ?

  • Methylcobalamin Injection is not advisable during pregnancy and lactation. It must be used cautiously in children and adolescents (between the ages of 6 months and 18 years) and in geriatric patients (above the age of 65 years) after consulting the physician.

Uses Of Methylcobalamin Injection

  • Treat diabetic and peripheral neuropathies
  • Treat megaloblastic anaemia (vitamin B12 deficiency)
  • Treat sciatica pain (leg pain), back pain, and general weakness in the affected people.

How Methylcobalamin Injection Works ?

  • Methylcobalamin Injection functions by facilitating the formation of myelin (a fatty substance that encases the nerve fibers), which protects the nerve fibers and thus relieves diabetic and peripheral neuropathy, sciatic pain, and back pain in the individuals so affected. It also supports synthesis of nucleic acid in the bone marrow, which contributes to maturation and cell division of erythroblasts, thereby controlling poor red blood cell production and hence enhancing megaloblastic anaemia in patients.

Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQs )

What is Methycobal Injection?

Methycobal Injection is a vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is a vital nutrient that the body needs to produce red blood cells and keep the nervous system healthy. It also plays a part in releasing energy from food and utilizing vitamin B11 (folic acid).

Why can’t I obtain enough vitamin B12 from my diet?

You can obtain vitamin B12 from foods such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy foods. Although vegetarians or vegans might not receive Vitamin B12 as it naturally does not occur in foods including fruits, vegetables and cereals. Hence, Vitamin B12 deficiency is normally observed among vegetarians or vegans.

What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?

Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss and megaloblastic anemia (a situation where red blood cells are bigger than usual). It can also result in nerve impairment like numbness and tingling sensations in the hands and feet. Some other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency could be issues related to balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory and mouth or tongue soreness.
