Description

Acebrophylline, Montelukast Sodium, and Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablets

Acebrophylline + fexofenadine + montelukast is utilized for the prophylaxis of asthma and alleviation of allergic symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, congestion, stuffy nose, or watery eyes. Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease wherein the airways constrict, swell, and create excess mucus, making it hard to breathe. An allergy is a state where the immune system overreacts to a foreign body that is generally not dangerous to your body. Foreign bodies are called ‘allergens.’

Acebrophylline + fexofenadine + montelukast is a drug combination of three: Acebrophylline (mucolytic), Montelukast (leukotriene receptor antagonist), and Fexofenadine hydrochloride (antihistamine). Acebrophylline is a mucolytic (cough/sputum thinner) medication that causes thinning and loosening of phlegm (mucus) in the windpipe, nose, and lungs. Montelukast acts by inhibiting the action of chemicals known as leukotrienes released from the lungs to cause inflammation (swelling) and excess mucus in the airways. Thus, reducing inflammation, excess mucus, and airway constriction. Fexofenadine hydrochloride is an antihistamine (anti-allergic medication) class drug that functions by inhibiting the action of histamine, a chemical that causes allergic symptoms.

Benefits:

  • Acebrophylline, Montelukast, and Fexofenadine hydrochloride, which inhibit asthma and relieve allergic symptoms.
  • Acebrophylline is a thinning agent/cough releaser that facilitates thinning and loosening of phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. This facilitates coughing out easily and ensures easy breathing by opening airways.
  • Montelukast decreases inflammation, mucus secretion, and airway constriction.
  • Fexofenadine hydrochloride is an anti-allergic agent that inhibits the action of histamine, a chemical that creates allergic reactions.
  • It aids in the relief from the symptoms of allergy such as sneezing, nasal congestion, watery eyes, itching, swelling, or stiffness.

Uses:

  • Montelukast is an antagonist of leukotriene. It suppresses the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This decreases airway and nasal inflammation and makes allergy symptoms better.
  • Fexofenadine is an antiallergic that makes symptoms such as a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing better.
  • Acebrophylline is a mucolytic that loosens and thins mucus (phlegm), making it easier to expel through coughing.
